League of Legends Strategy Blog

For the more astute readers of some of the forum threads and blog posts, I actually said about 3 weeks ago that I had returned from my month long hiatus of sorts. Well…..that really didn’t work out. Skyrim happened, then school started to pick up, then I was informed I was to receive a roommate next semester and had to clean and rearrange my room and doing anything LoL-related (which unfortunately includes lolstrategy.com) was forced to take a backseat during that time. However I have gotten over my Skyrim obsession, got school under control, and have made the necessary preparations for next semester so, with all that done, I am ready to get back to providing content for this site. This blog isn’t really going to have much content just sort of a promise to myself and the site that I need to get back to work. Since I only have one class on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s I feel it is not unreasonable for myself to provide one guide and one blog post per week at minimum. I currently have a Kennen guide nearing completion and if you want to request a guide I’m pretty sure there’s a thread for that in the forums or just say so in the comments. That is really all I have to say for now so I will talk to you all again next time.

And yes, I know this was short. The other posts will definitely have more content than this.

If you would scroll down a bit and take a look to the right, you should see the teamspeak 3 server’s layout and the clients that are in it. With this,  you can see who’s online and if the TS server is online. Pretty handy eh?

As we proceed in the construction of this site, through the guide builder and Garena deals, we are also gaining new members who will hopefully forge LoLStrategy into the wonderful carving it shall be! As we undergo these changes, the blog cannot go unnoticed! So im calling onto ALL SENIOR AND FRESH MEMBERS OUT OF THE OVEN!  If you would like to write multiple blog posts a week based on League of Legends and LoLStrategy happenings, PM me or Gbash and we’ll see if you’re worthy of this task! Im asking for more people because for a growing community, we’re going to need a bit more people handling the blog (Cause I have other responsibilities), and since Jesse took a left turn and lost all interest in LoL, I am now alone. So if you’d like to participate (once again) PM me or gbash and we’ll see what’ll happen!

    Sincerely,

LiekMudkipx, TS Owner and Head Blog Bro

Yeah. This is just something that came to me at 2 a.m. as I’m getting ready to fall asleep. I don’t really have a full plan for what I’m about to write, just an idea that I’m working off of, so I’m not sure how long this is about to be. My apologies if it’s another giant wall of text, and if it’s shorter…well…maybe some of you will appreciate that.

With any task you set out on in life, the mental aspect is usually one of the toughest obstacles to overcome. This right now for me has really started to show in two forms that are somewhat related: playing League of Legends, and writing blog posts for LoLStrategy. While these two activities may not seem related, they do invoke a similar feeling upon seeing the results of the effort I put into them (that sounds really bad grammatically, I know. I just couldn’t figure out the right way to phrase it). Putting in a quite large amount of time for each blog post and then getting the impression that all of three people read them, and two people leave comments and neither are really related to the blog post in general is a little depressing. It’s something that makes you almost not want to do it anymore because you see no results from your hard work. It is in this way that it’s related to LoL. You go into a game picking a champion you like, taking on a role you enjoy, and just generally looking forward to the game to come when it happens. For whatever reason (you never ask, they never tell) someone has decided to take your good intentions and just completely screw them over. Whether it be trolling, feeding, or just being a complete…badger; it really doesn’t matter because they’re taking something you love and completely mocking it. It is at this point when I take off my headset, turn off my music, close my laptop, and think. I think about why I play this game and potentially put up with stuff like that. I think on what other things I could be doing instead of LoL. Then it hits me. I do this not because I think I’m the best, or because I want to rank up high enough to get that (god-awful looking) new Jarvan skin. I do this because I love it. I love everything about this game. I love the excitement that is the potential level 1 fight. The brush ganks for first blood. The last-hitting and harassing in lane. The epic teamfights. The Barons when no one expects it and even the occasional base race. I do this because no matter what happens, I will love this game. Even if I go -50 in my win/loss, I will still love this game. It is the same way for blogging on this amazing site that was put together by amazing people who take time out of their own schedules to make this place the best it can be. I write these blogs because I enjoy writing them. Pure and simple. The thoughts behind the words, the memories that the paragraphs bring up, everything. So even if 5 people read them, 3 people comment, and 2 of those comments can, more or less, be ignored; it really doesn’t matter. I do this because it’s fun, and has the potential to help people or at least give them something interesting to read when they’re bored. I’m sorry if this sounded whiny or complaining or anything, it honestly meant to sound the exact opposite. That being said I’m sorry this didn’t have much to do with anything truly LoL related and within a week I’ll have a more standard post out. To end I’d simply like to say thank you to Riot! for this game, thank you to all the people I’ve played with and the memories those games created (special shout-out to 15-minute 5-man Baron and the enemy Ashe with the “oh. it actually worked”), and of course a special thank you to drew, Greater Bash, Ghost, and everyone else who makes this site great. That’s all I have to say for now, next time will be a lot more analytic and a lot less….philosophical? Emotional? I don’t even know what this is.
